We can certainly understand why some of our customers express concern that we employ the PayPal payments portal rather than a "real credit card processing company." We used to feel the same way. However, while we were looking for the very best, what we found was that the best really seems to be PayPal. Here is why we feel this is so:

Submit your account information online only once.

With most of the payment portals, you must re-enter your credit card account every time you make a purchase. Every time you do, you increase the chances that one of the bad guys will intercept it. With PayPal, you enter your credit cards and/or bank accounts only one time. Thereafter, PayPal knows what it is, and transfers money for you without re-entry.

Who gets it on the other end?

Every time I pay by credit card I wonder if the minimum-wage employee on the other end is stockpiling my and other customers information for a crime spree down the road. With PayPal there is very little risk, as the only people who ever see it are carefully-screened PayPal employees. Merchants merely get a notice that money has been transferred to them without ever knowing any account details.

Why doesn't every merchant accept PayPal?

Truth is, it costs the merchant more to accept payment through PayPal. The merchant must be willing to invest a bit more of the profit in Customer Security. Some merchants just don't care.

Are there other banking services like PayPal?

Yes, we have found a few, however they are not popular like PayPal is, so merchants who cater to the general public seldom use them. they are more likely used by "closed" organizations for funds transfers back and forth to their members.
